Join the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) as a Conferencing Assistant, and be part of the behind-the-scenes team that helps our charity thrive. You’ll support the delivery of professional conferencing and meeting facilities at our Head Office — services that generate vital income to keep our helicopters flying and our crews saving lives.
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys varied tasks, interacting with people, and being part of a purpose-driven organisation.
About the Role
As part of our conferencing team, you will:
- Support the delivery of smooth and professional conferencing services at Progress House.
- Set up and tidy meeting rooms, assist with catering, and welcome guests and delegates.
- Respond to room booking enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
- Manage supplies and stock control within the conferencing department.
- Open and close the building as part of a shared rota, including alarm activation.
- Work flexibly across mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends (with notice).
- Uphold health and safety standards and support wider charity operations.

About You
- Friendly, approachable and confident in customer-facing roles.
- Organised and proactive with a hands-on attitude.
- Comfortable working flexibly (early starts, evenings, weekends).
- Basic IT and admin skills – able to respond professionally to emails and calls.
- A team player with a positive mindset and willingness to support across departments.
- Previous hospitality or facilities experience is a bonus, but not essential.
