Last year, the Great North Air Ambulance Service was called upon 1262 times.

By donating to the Great North Air Ambulance Service, you are funding a lifesaving service for people across the North. GNAAS is charitably funded, meaning we rely entirely on donations to operate.

Your donation helps people like Steph.

Steph, 21, from Whittingham, Alnwick, was injured in a car crash and sustained significant injuries, including internal bleeding, which required a roadside blood-transfusion by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team. She was then airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

This was all made possible thanks to the generous donations of our supporters.

How we spend our funds

For every £1 we raise, 80p goes towards delivering, and improving, the care and service we offer. The other 20p goes towards generating future income.

In 2022/23, we spent £8.5 million on our lifesaving missions, critical care services, and research into pre-hospital treatments, as well as spending funds on improving awareness of our charity and generating future income. The funding that we receive from generous donations is crucial to allowing us to save lives across the regions we serve.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service are 100% funded by the generosity of our amazing donors. The money we receive goes straight into delivering world-class critical care, as well as securing our future so that we can continue to save lives into the future.
