FAQs
Are dogs allowed?
Yes – in fact, they’re encouraged! As long as your four-legged friend can comfortably go this distance, they’re more than welcome to join the walk. Please remember to bring their water and nutrition.
How fast do I have to walk?
You have eight hours to complete your walk. For most, this is an easily achievable pace. The average time to complete the route is six hours.
What should I wear?
We can’t predict the weather, so let’s hope for the best but prepare for all scenarios! Lots of layers allow you to find a comfortable temperature throughout the walk; a technical top, fleece, and lightweight waterproof are good go-to items.
Most importantly, make sure you have some sensible footwear – a pair of walking shoes you’re worn comfortably before, with good grip to tackle the terrain.
Please see our Kit List for more information.
What is the terrain like?
Green fields, moody moorland and ancient woods are waiting to be explored along the Cleveland Four Peaks path. The trails are well-established, with some steep climbs and downhill sections. If there has been rain some sections will be muddy, so please wear hiking boots or shoes.
Is it suitable for children?
Families are welcome, and the walk can make a great day out! However, this is a long walk, with some challenging steep sections. You must be 12+ to complete the walk! Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult.
What do I receive?
When you sign up for Cleveland 4 Peaks: Sunrise Walk, you’ll receive a fundraising pack and a free T-shirt to proudly wear as you complete your walk.
