Great North Run Volunteers

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help our team at the Great North Run!

We need you!

Come and support your friends and family and join Team GNAAS at this year’s Great North Run by volunteering for our life-saving charity!

Cheer Squad

Become part of our cheer squad! Help motivate over 300 GNAAS runners taking on 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields.

Runners will be tired – they’ve done nearly 12 miles by the time they reach you. Your energy gives them a crucial boost for the final stretch.

Cheer for everyone, but go extra wild for GNAAS runners! Your mission is to clap, cheer, whistle, rattle, shout – make it loud and uplifting!

Clothing Collection

Help us take in clothing at the start line! Grab a hi-vis and help our team collect warm-up jackets taken off by runners on the day!

Join us at the start line and help us raise critical funds for our life-saving service by collecting clothing left by runners on the day.

GNAAS Tent

Over 300 GNAAS runners will finish the 13.1-mile race tired, emotional, and in need of support.

Your role in the charity village tent includes:

  • Keeping snacks and drinks topped up
  • Making hot drinks for runners
  • Booking runners in for massages
  • Chatting with runners – check how they’re feeling and what they need
  • Offering high-fives, hugs, cheers, photos, help them celebrate their achievement!

    The goal is simple
  • Make every runner feel proud, appreciated, and cared for after their big achievement.
