FAQs
Do I need to own a dog to take part in Whirlybird Walkies?
We know our charity is powered by an army of pup lovers – but donโt worry if you donโt have a pooch of your own (though we think this is a great excuse to get oneโฆ). Walk in memory of a beloved pet, take your kids and their favourite stuffed animals for a stroll, join a local dog walking group, or even complete the walks solo – every step you take will help save lives.
Can I collect cash donations?
Yes! You can absolutely collect cash donations for your Whirlybird Walkies Challenge. Once you have signed up, you’ll be able to email us at support@gnaas.co.uk to request a fundraising form.
Iโm not sure how to fundraise.
When you sign up, youโll be emailed over a digital fundraising pack with helpful tips and tricks you need to make the most of your fundraising. Of course, youโre always welcome to get in touch with us and weโll guide you through any issues youโre encountering.
Is there a fundraising target?
We encourage everyone to raise what they can and suggest a target of ยฃ150 per participant. Once you raise ยฃ10, youโll receive your exclusive Whirlybird Walkies dog tag.
What rewards will I receive?
When you raise your first ยฃ10, youโll receive an exclusive challenge dog tag. Weโll also reveal more tail-wagging rewards throughout the challenge.
Can I take part with friends or family?
Absolutely! You can walk together as a group or even create a team fundraising page.
Is there an age requirement for Whirlybird Walkies?
There are no age restrictions in place for Whirlybird Walkies. As long as you’re able to complete your miles with your four-legged friend, you’re welcome to join in!
How do I track my miles?
Weโd recommend using a Smartphone or Smartwatch to do this, apps connected to these devices usually track your daily milage. Take screenshots of your distances (and some cute pup pics) and post them into our Canine Care Team Facebook group. Again, youโll be sent all the details via email once you sign up.
How do I raise funds?
For this challenge, you can collect sponsorships through JustGiving and/or cash donations. Donโt worry, once you sign up, youโll be sent an email detailing everything you need to know on getting your page up and running, but in case you want to be nosey, click here for the campaign.
