The GYRO has arrived!
The GYRO is our wonderful cycling event, and for the first time ever, it will be taking you on a breathtaking journey through the stunning landscapes of Cumbria! Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just love the open road, this is your chance to challenge yourself while supporting a life-saving charity.
We have three fantastic routes on offer, all of which explore the stunning scenery that our region has to offer. You can choose from a 30, 60, or 90 mile route.

The GYRO Routes


GYRO 30
It doesn’t matter what kind of bike you ride, or how fast you go, as long as you can ride 30 miles. Entry is ยฃ25pp.


GYRO 60
The 60-mile ride starts at Penrith Football Club, and will take you through the scenic Cumbrian countryside on this beautiful circular route. Entry is ยฃ30pp.


GYRO 90
Starting out as part of the main route, the split takes you through thigh-testing climbs, rolling roads and epic scenery. This 90-mile route is one you’ll never forget. Entry is ยฃ35pp.

Where is the start/finish?
The start/finish of the GYRO: Cumbria is based at Penrith Football Club, Frenchfield Way & Carleton Road, Penrith CA11 8.
Is there an age limit for the GYRO: Cumbria?
You must be 16+ to take part in this event. To ride the GYRO 30, you also need to be sure that you can ride the 30 mile distance.
How much does it cost to enter?
For the GYRO: Cumbria, it is ยฃ25 to ride the GYRO 30; ยฃ30 for the GYRO 60, and ยฃ35 for the GYRO 90.
Do I need to fundraise to enter this event?
There is no minimum sponsorship for the event, However, if you would like to fundraise, please click the ‘I would like to fundraise’ button on the sign up form, and we can send fundraising information and sponsorship sheets to help reach your target.
What are the safety requirements for the GYRO: Cumbria?
We must stress that this is a strictly none competitive ride out. You will receive a medal at the finish line for your successful completion of the ride.
