Sellafield Ltd raises more than £11,000 for GNAAS

We’re so grateful for the continued support from our amazing Corporate Partner Sellafield after they raised more than £11,000 from their Christmas appeal.

Sellafield Ltd is a nuclear decommissioning company whose aim is to create a clean and safe environment for future generations. This includes cleaning-up the country’s highest nuclear risks and hazards and safeguarding nuclear fuel, materials and waste.

They do this work on behalf of their owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

They have teams based on the Sellafield site near Seascale and in offices in West Cumbria and Warrington, Cheshire.

As a major employer in the region, Sellafield plays a vital role in the local community and is committed to supporting charities that make a real difference to people’s lives.

Their Christmas appeal is a much-loved annual tradition at Sellafield Ltd, where Santa and his team of Elves bring festive cheer to their colleagues and they have raised around £50,000 over the past 17 years.

This year Santa and his elves toured the Sellafield site and their Whitehaven offices and thanks to the generous donations from Sellafield Ltd employees, contractors and NDA colleagues they have raised an incredible £11,317.17 for GNAAS.

Over the years, colleagues have raised tens of thousands of pounds to support our life-saving work and help keep our service operational.

In recognition of their continued commitment, Sellafield became a Corporate Partner of our charity.

Businesses need to raise a minimum of £5,000 for GNAAS to qualify as a Corporate Partner and in return they receive a range of benefits including event invitations, sponsorship opportunities and a trophy highlighting their support for our charity.

Those who reach £10,000 or more also have the opportunity to have their logo displayed on one of our vehicles for a year to highlight their charitable efforts.

Recently our colleagues visited Sellafield’s site where they were presented with a cheque for the funds raised for GNAAS.

A spokesperson from Sellafield said: “A huge thank you to everyone who donated. Your generosity helps GNAAS deliver critical care when every second counts.”
