Raising a glass for April’s Fundraising Heroes

As we step into May, we’re reflecting on the incredible support we’ve received from our community in April.

From heartfelt memorials to community gatherings, our supporters’ efforts have been instrumental in keeping our helicopters in the sky and our rapid response vehicles on the road.

Here’s a recap of the visits our fundraisers had the honour of organising last month:

Pints and pennies

In Bridgefoot, Workington, Carol Elliott transformed a night of remembrance into a joyful celebration of life.

To mark the first anniversary of her beloved husband Ian’s passing, she hosted a memorial fundraising evening at her pub, The Duke of Cumberland Inn.

In honouring Ian’s memory, Carol chose to support our life-saving service – we’re truly honoured to have been part of such a special night.

We’d like to wish Carol and her wider community a huge thank you.

Swing into action

Meet Bev Forster and Andrew Proud – Brampton Golf Club’s very own dynamic duo!

As this year’s club captains, they didn’t just lead on the green – they spearheaded a full year of fundraising, rallying their fellow golfers to raise an incredible £3,001.28 for our cause.

It’s no surprise we love hosting our Cumbria Golf Day at such a generous and spirited club. Massive thanks to Bev, Andrew, and all of Team Brampton!

Cake, coffee, and Crosby

Last month, we were treated to a lovely community gathering at Crosby Community Hall near Maryport where the kettle was on, the cakes were flowing, and the donations came in thick and fast.

Locals raised a sweet £235 – proof that home-baked goodies make a world of a difference.

Buttermere’s Parking Hero

Meet Derek Tunstall – fundraiser, kindling king, and parking pro.

Derek parks cars in a farmer’s field in Buttermere and donates a cut of the proceeds to our charity.

But that’s not all… he also chops and sells kindling and gets crafty with fundraising ideas. So far, he’s donated a very impressive £14,300!

Thunder in Keswick

Easter Sunday roared into life with the unmistakable sound of the Goldwing Club – Cumbria’s proud motorcycling crew!

Their annual static display rolled into Keswick town centre, drawing crowds, turning heads, and shining a spotlight on our charity in the most eye-catching way.

Last year they raised £776.15, and this year they’ve revved things up even more, with the total pushing £900!
