It’s that time again, when we shine a spotlight on the amazing efforts of our incredible supporters.
From inspiring events and personal challenges to the small but mighty acts of generosity, our community never ceases to amaze us.
So, let’s rewind to the beginning of June and celebrate the difference you’ve made…
Farm shop fundraisers
At the start of June, we had the pleasure of welcoming the fantastic team from Hutchinson Hobbs to our base for a fun-filled air base visit and a generous cheque presentation.
They raised an incredible £1,724.04 during their 10th business birthday celebration, and even more heartwarming, they’ve chosen us as their charity of the year!
But they didn’t stop there… as if that wasn’t enough, they also sponsored a hole at our recent golf day at Close House. Honestly, they’re the gift that keeps on giving, and we’re beyond excited to see what they’ll get up to next.
Picture-perfect painting
Earlier this month, our wonderful volunteer John White gave a community talk to a lovely group who had raised an impressive £677 in support of our work.
As a touching gesture, one attendee, whose family member we’d assisted after a riding accident, presented John with a heartfelt gift: a beautiful painting she had created herself.
That artwork now hangs proudly at our HQ, serving as a daily reminder of the incredible support we receive and the lives we touch – we’re truly grateful for both the generous donation and such a thoughtful gift.
Treasure in the trunk
Meet Barbara and Judy: two fundraising superstars who recently took to the car boot circuit and raised an amazing £850 in support of our cause.
They’re not stopping there either – they’ve already planned another sale to keep the momentum going! This effort is especially meaningful for Judy, who is dedicating the donations in memory of her late husband.
A beautiful example of turning pain into purpose; a huge thank you to you both.
Going once, going twice
One Friday evening in June, volunteer Bob headed to Culltercoats’ Friday Night Ladies Club for a cheque presentation.
This lovely group of ladies have been fundraising year after year through their church, hosting coffee mornings and lively auctions – all in support of our cause. Their efforts have brewed up an impressive £1,000.
We’re so grateful for their continued dedication and generosity. Here’s to more coffee, cakes, and kindness!
Mini fundraisers
After their fantastic fundraising efforts back in May, we had the pleasure of visiting Tweedmouth Priory Park First School to say a big thank you in person.
Our volunteer Emma and our mascot, Miles, had a lovely chat with the students, then took part in a cheque presentation with the pupils, who proudly handed over their hard-earned donations: £140.
It was a brilliant visit filled with lots of enthusiasm and great questions, it’s safe to say Miles was very impressed!
Nature, nurture
We’d like to say a BIG thank you to the amazing team, children, and families at The Outdoor Preschool in Darlington.
Through a series of fundraising activities, the youngsters have raised £533 in support of our life-saving service, some of which was raised by taking on our Miles4Miles challenge.
Not only did they raise enough to gift us with some funds, but they even raised enough to supply both a defibrillator and an anti-choking device on the premises… how incredible?
Great North Pup
This is Jacob. This September, he’ll proudly don our finest GNAAS running t-shirt as he takes on the 13.1-mile challenge from Newcastle to South Shields.
Although the race is still months away, Jacob has already blown past his fundraising goal, raising nearly £1,400! You might be wondering how he did it? He created a heartfelt short film featuring himself and his loyal four-legged training partner who joins him every step of the way.
Such an inspiring story and a brilliant way to boost his fundraising efforts.
That’s a wrap for this month, folks! But don’t worry, we’ll be back at the end of July with a full round-up of all the latest happenings in the world of GNAAS fundraising.
