Boy, 8, flown to hospital after collision with car at North Shields


AN eight-year-old boy was flown to hospital after being struck by a car in North Shields. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist the North East Ambulance Service at 6.20pm yesterday (August 21). The boy suffered multiple life-threatening injuries and was anaesthetised by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, within six minutes.
