A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after a collision between his bike and a car at Morecambe, Lancashire, on Sunday (July 24).
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 4:40pm. The helicopter landed at a local golf course and the aircrew made their way on foot to the incident.
The GNAAS doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the patient for multiple serious injuries before he was transported to the waiting helicopter by North West Ambulance Service, and then flown to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool within 18 minutes. He arrived in a stable condition.
