We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional to join our Board of Trustees.

This is an opportunity to use your strategic expertise to help secure the future of a charity that delivers life-saving care across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.
As a Trustee, you’ll play a vital governance role, helping guide the charity’s long-term direction while ensuring we continue to raise funds responsibly, sustainably and effectively.

About the role
We’re looking for someone with senior-level fundraising experience who can bring valuable insight to our Board.
This is not a hands-on fundraising position. Instead, you’ll provide strategic oversight, challenge and support to help the Board make informed decisions about fundraising performance, income generation and future opportunities.
This voluntary position offers the opportunity to use your expertise to support a well-respected regional charity that relies entirely on public support to remain operational.
What you’ll bring
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience within charities, social enterprises, public benefit organisations or other purpose-led sectors.
You’ll have experience in:
– Fundraising strategy and income diversification
– Donor stewardship and supporter engagement
– Campaign planning and fundraising performance
– Fundraising governance, compliance and ethical practice
– Providing constructive challenge at Board or senior leadership level
– Building relationships and acting as an ambassador for a mission-led organisation

Time commitment
Being a Trustee is a rewarding opportunity that fits alongside many professional careers.
You’ll be expected to:
– Attend at least four Board meetings each year
– Participate in an annual Board strategy day
– Sit on two Board Committees
– Contribute between meetings via email, telephone or Microsoft Teams where appropriate
