We’re delighted to shine the spotlight on our Corporate Partner Universal Tankers.
Over the past five years, the team at Universal Tankers have raised more than £20,000 to help keep our helicopters flying and our critical care team responding across the North East, Cumbria, North Yorkshire, and the Isle of Man.
Universal Tankers is a family-owned waste management company with over 20 years of experience, operating from 19 depots across England and Scotland.
Based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, the company provides safe, reliable, and cost-effective water and liquid waste management services in compliance with strict environmental standards.
They also support a number of charities both in their local community and across the UK, including GNAAS.

One of the main ways the company has supported us is through sponsorship at our annual golf days.
These events play an important role in our fundraising calendar, bringing together businesses from across the region for a day of friendly competition, networking, and vital fundraising.
Universal Tankers attended our very first golf day in 2020 and have since become our overall sponsor of the event in the North East as well as proudly supporting our golf days held in Cumbria.
They’ve previously organised an Easter raffle and colouring competition, and some members of the Universal Tankers team took on the Great North Run.
The company have also embraced environmentally friendly fundraising by recycling clothing and turning it into vital funds for our charity.

During one of their clear-outs, staff managed to collect and recycle 260kg of items.
In addition to this, Universal Tankers operate a payroll giving scheme, providing regular monthly donations to GNAAS.
We are incredibly grateful for their continued support and in recognition of their fundraising efforts they were awarded Corporate Partner status.
To become a Corporate Partner, organisations need to raise a minimum of £5,000, and in return receive several benefits including having first refusal of sponsorships and invites to charity events, use of GNAAS facilities and a tour of the helicopters.
Jon Main, business development director at Universal Tankers said: “GNAAS provides vital pre-hospital care across the North East, Cumbria and the North West — areas we have depots in and cover on a daily basis. In 2025 alone, they responded to over 1,900 callouts, with each mission costing several thousand pounds. The service is not currently NHS-funded and relies solely on donations and the generosity of the community, so we at Universal Tankers feel it is of the utmost importance that we do everything we can to help keep this life-saving service operational.”
