About the Role

This is a vital role at the very heart of our life-saving operation.

As a HEMS Dispatcher / Operations Officer, you will be responsible for the effective coordination and deployment of our aircraft, RRVs (Rapid Response Vehicles) and critical care teams. Working within a fast-paced control room environment, you will ensure the right resources reach the right patient at the right time.

You will work closely with NHS ambulance services, aircrew, clinicians and external emergency agencies, managing complex and time-critical incidents while maintaining clear communication and calm decision-making under pressure.

About You

You will have previous experience working in a pressurised environment, ideally within an Emergency Services Control Centre, and be confident managing time-critical information and decisions. You will be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, even in challenging situations.

You will be calm, resilient and adaptable, with the flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and bank holidays. Experience within an ambulance or HEMS control centre, an understanding of the pre-hospital emergency care system, and familiarity with EMS software, CAD systems and radio communications would be advantageous.

Why Join GNAAS?

By joining our life-saving team, you’ll be part of a passionate, dedicated charity making a real difference to lives across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, and the Isle of Man. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of emergency care coordination while supporting a service that saves lives every day.
