GYRO: GNAAS Yearly Ride Out

The GYRO is a new fundraising challenge in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

A cunning play on words with connotations to the gyroscopic effect of both bicycles and helicopters and to the famous Italian grand tour, it is also an acronym: GNAAS Yearly Ride Out!

The Classic 75-mile route will provide anyone, from beginners to experienced cyclists, with a great ride and a fantastic challenge. If you want a bit more of a challenge, the GYROplus route at 100 miles is the perfect distance to push yourself to the limit.

Join the Great North Air Ambulance Service team on this charity cycling event and enjoy a great day in the saddle with first-class support throughout the day.

The GYRO routes

Ride from the new state-of-the-art base and headquarters in Teesside and through the scenic Yorkshire countryside on this round route.

Starting out as part of the main route, the split takes you to thigh-testing climbs, but the rewards are quiet, rolling roads through epic scenery.

It doesn’t matter what kind of bike you ride, how fast you go, or how old you are, as long as you can ride 15-miles.
