Urgent Summer Appeal

Donate today

In 2022, we experienced a 52 per cent increase in call-outs during summer.

It’s officially summer, and while for most people it’s the season of going on long walks, enjoying the seaside and dabbling in a range of outdoor activates, for our critical care team, it’s their busiest time of the year.

During summer, our team experience an increase in call-outs of over 50 per cent, but this isn’t the only thing impacting our charity.

Like many other people, businesses and charities, we’re facing the fallout from the cost-of-living crisis; the prices of medical equipment and fuel has increased, meaning it’s costing our charity more money to attend incidents.

We need your help to ensure we can be there for the people who need us most.

"We just want to continue making you proud."

“It’s Summer Solstice on 21 June, the longest day of the year.

In the summer, we’re 52 per cent busier than we are during the winter months.

Through our improvements in dispatch, we’re getting to more patients who really need us – we’re doing more missions, and we’re delivering more critical care.

We’re so aware that everyone is struggling now with the cost-of-living crisis, and it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to raise the funds that we need to continue to save lives.

Aviation fuel has trebled in price over the last 18 months, and against this backdrop of rising costs, I hope that you’re proud that we’ve been able to deliver 24/7 in the North East, and I hope that you’re proud that we’re operating four nights in Cumbria now, and soon to be 24/7 across the board.

But we need you more than ever now. We recognise how much everyone is struggling, but no matter what you can do for us, however big or small, it’s gratefully received. We just want to continue making you proud.”

Support the missions our critical care team are going to face this summer.
