Woman airlifted to hospital after being thrown from horse in Durham


A HORSE rider has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries when she was thrown from her horse. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Littletown, near Pittington, Durham, on January 24. The woman had suffered head and pelvic injuries and she was anaesthetised by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The flight took 10 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition..
