Woman, 70, run over in Cumbria car park


A 70-YEAR-OLD woman has been airlifted to hospital after being knocked over by a vehicle in Cumbria. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the The Sands car park in Carlisle at 1:30pm on December 27. The woman, from Dalston, suffered serious leg and arm injuries and was treated at the scene by the GNAAS crew, North West Ambulance Service and a local BASICS doctor before being flown to the major trauma centre at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.

The flight took 25 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.
