A WALKER suffered a serious eye injury on Loweswater fell in the Lake District. The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 1pm on July 25. The 54-year-old, from Cockermouth, was stretchered to the air ambulance by Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team and then taken to Royal Preston Hospital to undergo surgery.
