Teenager airlifted to hospital after rugby injury


A TEENAGER was airlifted to hospital after suffering a neck injury while playing rugby. The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to assist the North East Ambulance Service at Berwick Rugby Club at 1:30pm on Saturday. The 16-year-old from Jedburgh, was assessed and treated by the doctor-led team before being transported to the Borders General Hospital, on the outskirts of Melrose, Scotland.

The 16-year-old from Jedburgh, was assessed and treated by the doctor-led team before being transported to the Borders General Hospital, on the outskirts of Melrose, Scotland. The flight took 18 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
