THE final preparations are being made for a family fun day held to raise money for the Pride of Cumbria air ambulance.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), which operates the Langwathby-based helicopter, will hold the event at Kendal Rugby Club on Sunday (June 29th), from noon to 5pm.

The aircraft itself is scheduled to make an appearance, subject to operational demands, at around 2.30pm. The crew will be on hand to chat with attendees and pose for pictures with the aircraft.

Organisers are planning a host of entertainments for the event including children’s craft activities, alpacas, shopping stalls with local crafts, glitter tattoos, rides and bouncy castles.

There will also be sweets and candy floss, a tombola, and the GNAAS mascot Miles the Bear will be in available for photographs.

The event is free to enter, but money raised on the day will go directly to supporting the Pride of Cumbria aircraft.

Stacy Hucker, of GNAAS, said: “We’re all really excited about the fun day and we think we’ve got a little bit of something for everyone.

“We’d love to see everyone down there, so bring the family, pack a picnic, and we’ll all have a great day.”

There will be indoor activities in the eventuality of adverse weather. All are welcome.
