Pedestrian airlifted after suffering cardiac arrest in Windermere


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Windermere at 9.29am today, after a man suffered a cardiac arrest while walking in the street. GNAAS responded to a request for assistance from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). NWAS and police commenced CPR and restarted the man’s heart. The GNAAS aircraft landed at a nearby school and the doctor-led aircrew put the patient into a medically induced coma before he was flown to hospital in Carlisle within 20 minutes, where he arrived in a stable condition. .
