Paraglider airlifted after crash in the Lake District


A paraglider was airlifted to hospital after he crashed near to the Lake District fell – Tarn Crag, at 11:10am on Friday (May 1). The Great North Air Ambulance Service’s doctor and paramedic crew assessed and treated the man, who had suffered life-threatening injuries. An RAF Sea King lifted the casualty and aircrew from the scene and then transferred them to the air ambulance helicopter which flew the man to Royal Preston Hospital in Lancashire.
