Mountain biker airlifted from Grizedale Forest


A MOUNTAIN biker was airlifted to hospital after an accident at Grizedale Forest, Hawkshead. The 24-year-old man had suffered back injuries and the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene to help at 2pm yesterday (August 29). The GNAAS doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the man at the scene before he was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital.

The GNAAS doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the man at the scene before he was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital. The flight took 16 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
