Motorcyclist flown to hospital after crash


A motorcyclist was flown to hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a car near Chester-le-Street yesterday. The 29-year-old man, from South Durham, suffered severe back injuries in the smash. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 3:45pm. He was treated by a GNAAS doctor and paramedic and North East Ambulance Service before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The flight took seven minutes and his condition was stable on arrival..
