Man seriously injured in 12ft fall from agricultural storage container


A 76-YEAR-OLD man has been airlifted to hospital after falling around 12ft from an agricultural storage container at Kibblesworth, near Birtley. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 11:30am on December 24. The man, from Kibblesworth, suffered head and pelvic injuries and was stabilised by the doctor-led trauma team before being airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle within seven minutes. He arrived in a serious but stable condition. .
