A MAN impaled his eye on an 18-inch metal spike at Wark, Northumberland. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 3:12pm on July 27. The 28-year-old man was administered pain relief by the GNAAS team before being flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary to undergo surgery.

The 28-year-old man was administered pain relief by the GNAAS team before being flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary to undergo surgery. The flight took 13 minutes and he was stable upon arrival.
