Man airlifted after serious A66 crash


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the A66 near Whinfell Forest at around 11am this morning, to a crash involving multiple vehicles. GNAAS airlifted a man, who was a driver of one of the vehicles.

GNAAS airlifted a man, who was a driver of one of the vehicles. The man, believed to be in his 70s, suffered multiple life-threatening injuries and after treatment by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team, was flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough within 20 minutes, where he arrived in a critical condition.
