Kitchen Rivals charity banquet raises more than £6,000 for GNAAS

A ‘Kitchen Rivals’ event hosted by Barclays, Baines Wilson, and Lake District Hotels has raised £6035 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).

Teams from Baines Wilson and Barclays took over the Lake District Hotels’ Inn on the Lake in Ullswater, on November 16 for the charity banquet.

Throughout the evening the teams were in the kitchen and front of house, under the supervision of the Inn on the Lake’s expert chefs and front of house staff, to ensure that all guests had an enjoyable experience.

The diners paid a donation according to their satisfaction with the food and service, and more money was raised through a raffle and an auction for items and experiences.

It was a close contest, but Baines Wilson received the highest amount of donations and were declared the winners.

The total amount raised from the event was a massive £22,548 which was then split between three chosen charities including GNAAS.

Sophie Weir, Public Liaison Assistant for GNAAS said: “All the money raised on the night will go towards the running costs of the service, which will continue to provide world class pre-hospital care.”

Did you know we are reliant on donations to survive? Last year alone, we needed to raise £5.1m to keep flying. To find out how you can help, please visit www.gnaas.com or call 01325-487263.
