Injured walker airlifted from Lake District fell


A WALKER was airlifted to hospital after injuring herself on a Lake District fell yesterday. The 73-year-old slipped while walking near Boredale Hause above Patterdale. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team at 2pm. Once at the scene, the aircrew assessed and treated the woman for an isolated leg injury before mountain rescue set up a rope system to haul the casualty on a stretcher to the helicopter. The patient was then flown to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary within 12 minutes, where she arrived in a stable condition..
