In the spotlight: our supporters BTS Facades and Fabrications

“It’s essential we raise money for this charity to ensure they can continue to save lives.”

BTS Facades & Fabrications have been incredibly supportive of GNAAS and raised thousands of pounds for our charity in a variety of ways.

We recently spoke to their managing director, Phil Atkinson, to find out why they fundraise for GNAAS.

Could you summarise what your company does?

We’re a family business based in Newton Aycliffe Business Park. We’re a carbon-neutral company that manufactures high-quality rainscreen and façade products to clients across the country.

Why do you support GNAAS?

In recent years, we’ve focused on prioritising our staff and their wants and needs; as part of this we’ve launched the four-day week, hosted social events, and decided to let our team vote on a charity they’d like us to raise funds for, and GNAAS came out on top.

While I didn’t vote, I was elated to hear GNAAS was our chosen charity – my daughter works for them and often speaks about the incredible work the team do. It’s extremely important for us as a company to give back and do what we can to support them.

What have you done to support GNAAS?

We’ve done several things, including attending their annual ball, golf days etc. We do a couple of bits in the office too to raise money, from coffee mornings to cake sales and crown-making contests.

Our biggest money maker has been our golf days, where we have invited our customers to Rockliffe Hall to play on the beautiful course. Through raffles, auctions and sponsorships we’ve generated £5,000 per event.

Why should other businesses support GNAAS?

You never know when you might need their service and I think a lot of people take it for granted – it’s essential we raise money for this charity to ensure they can continue to save lives.

I just wish more businesses and people across the region knew how essential this service is, and how expensive it is to run.
