Horse rider airlifted to hospital after fall


A woman was airlifted to hospital after falling off her horse at Warwick Hall, Carlisle, yesterday (June 12). The 35-year-old horse rider sustained severe leg and pelvic injuries. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 11:00am. The woman was treated by an onsite doctor and medic, as well as the GNAAS crew, who flew the patient to the major trauma centre at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

The woman was treated by an onsite doctor and medic, as well as the GNAAS crew, who flew the patient to the major trauma centre at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The patient was in serious but stable condition upon arrival at hospital after a 20 minute flight.
