Honister Pass cyclist seriously injured in ravine plunge


A cyclist was seriously injured when he fell down a ravine at Honister Pass in the Lake District on Saturday (May 16). The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at around midday. The 38-year-old man suffered head, chest and back injuries in the incident. Keswick Mountain Rescue Team extricated the man and GNAAS trauma team worked alongside North West Ambulance Service to treat the patient who was flown to the major trauma centre at Royal Preston Hospital in 20 minutes..
