AN AIR ambulance doctor has tackled the London Triathlon in a bid to raise cash for the charity this weekend.
Dr Jonathan Howes, from Newcastle, took on a 1,500 metre open water swim, 40K bike ride and 10K run all in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
The 34-year-old has so far raised more than £600 for GNAAS and hopes sponsors will continue to fly in.
He said: “The heat was tough but it was worth it. It is a privilege to work for such an amazing charity and I wanted to give something back.”
