Girl’s rock fall sparks air-sea-land rescue

A girl was airlifted with potentially serious head injuries after falling at Marsden Rock, South Shields, yesterday.

GNAAS joined the RNLI, police and ambulance crews in the rescue effort after the girl fell about eight feet down some rocks.

She was treated on scene by the air ambulance doctor before being flown to the RVI in Newcastle, a journey which took just five minutes.
