Elderly woman airlifted after a two-vehicle collision in Bishop Auckland


An ELDERLY woman has been airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Bishop Auckland. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at Holdforth Crest at 11:45am on August 18. A woman, believed to be in her 70s, had sustained a serious head injury and was anesthetised on scene by the GNAAS trauma team.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at Holdforth Crest at 11:45am on August 18.

A woman, believed to be in her 70s, had sustained a serious head injury and was anesthetised on scene by the GNAAS trauma team. She was then flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for further treatment. The flight took just eight minutes and the patient was critical upon arrival.
