Cyclist suffers cardiac arrest on A171 Whitby to Scarborough road


A cyclist suffered a cardiac arrest on the A171 Whitby to Scarborough road today. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at around 1pm. Yorkshire Ambulance Service had stabilised the 69-year-old man before our arrival and after assessment by the GNAAS aircrew, the patient was anaesthetised at the scene and flown to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, in nine minutes.
