Cyclist airlifted to hospital after collision with car near Ferryhill


A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after a collision with a car in Ferryhill on Saturday (August 20). The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the incident on the A171 at 1pm. The 32-year-old man had sustained multiple serious injuries and was treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team before being flown to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, within eight minutes.
