Customers vote GNAAS in donation poll

Building society customers in a North Yorkshire community have voted for the Great North Air Ambulance to receive a ยฃ100 donation.

Yorkshire Building Society on Stokesley High Street asked for customers and members of the public visiting the bank to vote for their favourite charity. The winner of the vote would receive a cash donation of ยฃ100.

GNAAS won with an overwhelming majority and were invited along to collect the cheque. Rob from the organisation went to meet members of staff from Yorkshire building society and collect a cheque on behalf of GNAAS.

He said: โ€œThe Great North Air Ambulance would like to thank everyone who voted for us to win this donation. This is the second year we have won a donation from the Yorkshire Building Society, it really shows that the community of Stokesley want to help in any way possible to keep our helicopters flying.

โ€œWe would also like to thank their staff for all their efforts in organising the voting. The charity needs to raise four million pounds per year and relies solely on a very supportive public throughout the region.โ€
