Castle Crag walker airlifted to hospital after suffering ankle injury


A WALKER has been rescued from a Lake District fell after injuring herself in a fall. The 62-year-old woman, from Keswick, was walking on Castle Crag in Borrowdale when she suffered a serious ankle injury. The GNAAS’ Pride of Cumbria air ambulance was requested to assist Keswick Mountain Rescue Team at 10:30am today (February 10). She was treated at the scene by KMRT members and assessed by the GNAAS crew before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for treatment. The flight took 14 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition..
