Air ambulance called to unconscious cyclist at Bellingham


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to reports of an unconscious cyclist who had fallen from his bike after hitting a pothole near Bellingham, Northumberland. The man, in his 40s, was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew for facial injuries before being flown to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital within 13 minutes.

The man, in his 40s, was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew for facial injuries before being flown to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital within 13 minutes. He arrived in a stable condition.

The incident happened at around 11.30am yesterday.
