Air ambulance called to man felling trees


The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to a man who was suffering from chest pain while felling trees at Elsdon, near Otterburn, on Feb 25. North East Ambulance Service (NEAS), a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), Royal Navy Sea King and the GNAAS doctor and paramedic crew were involved in the rescue of the 47-year-old man, from Newcastle, as he was in the middle of very difficult terrain. He was treated by GNAAS and NEAS and then winched from the scene by the Royal Navy and taken to the Newcastle’s RVI for treatment..
