Air ambulance called to Lake District fell after man takes ill


A MAN was taken to hospital after falling ill on top of Loughrigg Fell in the Lake District on Saturday. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 2:30pm, where a man, in his late 60s, was suffering from chest pains. The doctor and paramedic team assessed the man, who was from Keighley, West Yorkshire, before he was carried down to the fell by Mountain Rescue, and taken to hospital in Lancaster by road..
