Woman airlifted from Holy Island


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) has airlifted a woman from Holy Island. The woman, in her 70s, started suffering from chest pain while visiting the island.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) has airlifted a woman from Holy Island.

The woman, in her 70s, started suffering from chest pain while visiting the island. The GNAAS doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the patient before she was flown to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington. The flight took 18 minutes.

GNAAS was called to the incident at 3.20pm yesterday.
