Incident Round-Up: March 9 – 12


We’ve had a busy few days, here are some of the incidents we were able to attend thanks to your support: On Friday March 9 at 10.30am we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) in Workington where a man, believed to be in his 60s, was reported to have fallen out of a tree and sustained injuries.

On Friday March 9 at 10.30am we were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) in Workington where a man, believed to be in his 60s, was reported to have fallen out of a tree and sustained injuries. He was assessed and treated by the GNAAS paramedic and doctor team and flown to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 12 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.

Later at 2pm we were called to assist NWAS in Penrith, where a female cyclist, believed to be in her 70s, appeared to lose consciousness. She was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team and flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle. The flight took 14 minutes and she arrived in a stable condition.

In the evening at 5pm we were called to Selside, near Kendal, where a man, believed to be in his 80s, was suffering a medical episode. Our GNAAS doctor and paramedic team assisted NWAS and North West Air Ambulance Charity in assessing and treating the patient. GNAAS flew the patient to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The flight took 14 minutes and he arrived in a critical condition.

Yesterday at 11am our GNAAS paramedic and doctor team were called to Dalston to assist NWAS with a female who had fallen from a push bike. On arrival, we worked alongside NWAS paramedics to assess and treat the patient’s injuries. The patient was flown to the RVI and arrived in a critical condition. The flight took 20 minutes.

Today at 9am we were called to assist the North East Ambulance Service in Bellingham, Hexham, where a man, believed to be in his 50s, was suffering a medical episode. He was airlifted to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. The flight took 14 minutes and he arrived in a critical condition.
