Air ambulance called to Cockfield in aid of horse rider


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the aid of a woman who had fallen from her horse in Cockfield at 10:45pm yesterday (Sun). The 47-year-old from Newton Aycliffe was in a difficult location for land crews to access and move safely back to the ambulance.

The 47-year-old from Newton Aycliffe was in a difficult location for land crews to access and move safely back to the ambulance.

She had sustained a serious leg injury and was treated by the doctor and paramedic crew before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The flight took 11 minutes.
