You didn’t really think we’d be offering birthday flights… did you?
Find out below why this isn’t possible for our charity

Did we get you?
We hope we managed to trick you! But if you were already picturing yourself enjoying a VIP helicopter ride with a slice of cake in hand… sorry to disappoint.
Of course, we’d love to celebrate with you, but we have a pretty important job to do. Our highly skilled pilots, paramedics, and doctors are on call, responding to life-threatening emergencies across the region.
Every flight we take isn’t just a scenic tour – it’s a mission to save a life.
Read on to discover why birthday flights aren’t possible for us.
It ain’t cheap
Keeping our helicopters in the air is no small feat. Every single day, our charity spends a staggering £25,200 to keep our team flying and our critical care cars on the road.
But it’s not just the helicopters that come with a hefty price tag – our cutting-edge medical equipment does too. These aircraft aren’t just a means of transport, they’re fully equipped, flying A&E departments, carrying everything needed to deliver life-saving care at a moment’s notice.
On board, our expert team provides critical treatment before a patient even reaches the hospital. Whether it’s a major trauma, a serious accident, or a cardiac arrest, they’re there when seconds matter most – whatever the cost.

Patients first, always
Every day, we respond to around six patients who need urgent, critical care. For them, our helicopter isn’t just a mode of transport – it’s a lifeline.
Emergencies don’t wait, and neither can we. Our aircraft, crew, and resources must always be ready at a moment’s notice.
A detour for a birthday celebration – however special – would mean putting lives at risk. And that’s just not something we’re willing to do.
Make your support count
While we won’t be offering birthday flights anytime soon, there is a way you can get involved…
Perhaps you could set up a Facebook or JustGiving fundraiser and ask for donations instead of presents?
Or, you could be a vital component in the effort to keep our team saving lives across the region.
From our office staff to our crew, our life-saving work starts with you. Support our appeal and keep us flying to the aid of those in need across our region. One team, saving lives.
