AN enchanted evening awaits guests at a ball held to raise money for the regionโs air ambulance.
The Enchanted Forest Ball will be the first event to take place in the new Grand Marquee at Wynyard Hall, near Billingham.
The structure, set in its own landscaped gardens, can house up to 700 guests and will host large weddings, concerts and conferences.
First up will be the Great North Air Ambulance Serviceโs (GNAAS) annual summer fundraiser, which organisers hope will be the charityโs biggest and most successful to date.
Ruth Davey, of GNAAS, said: โWe are putting the finishing touches to the line-up and we are confident this is going to be our best event yet.
โTickets have just gone on sale but weโve already sold nearly 200. This is an incredible response, it just shows how important the air ambulance is to the region.โ
The ball takes place on Saturday, May 10, from 6pm, and will be hosted by Tyne Tees news anchor Pam Royle, GNAAS patron.
Tickets are ยฃ60 which includes drinks on reception, three course dinner, live entertainment and more. There will be a luxury raffle, auction of exclusive prizes and surprise entertainment on the night.ย Tickets can be bought individually or in tables of ten.
El Sands, marketing coordinator at Wynyard Hall, said: โWe are all really excited about The Grand Marquee development and canโt wait to host the air ambulanceโs charity ball. The venue already looks stunning so we are looking forward to see its enchanted forest makeover.โ
All of the money raised will go to support GNAASโ three air ambulances, which last year flew nearly 1,000 missions. The charity does not receive Government or lottery support, so every penny needed is raised through the generosity of the public.
