Four injured as van leaves road


A woman was airlifted by GNAAS after the van she was travelling in careered off the road near Durham yesterday.


GNAAS was called shortly after 5pm to reports of the single vehicle RTC involving a van with 5 people travelling in it.

The van left the Carrville road, rolling several times. Some of those inside were ejected from the vehicle and one landed in a tree.

One patient, a 21-year-old woman, was flown to the RVI in Newcastle, with multiple serious injuries.

The flight to the hospital took just four minutes and the patient arrived in a stable condition.
