At the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), we’re powered by the generosity of our supporters. Every grant secured helps us provide world-class pre-hospital critical care to patients across our region.
As our Grants and Trusts Lead, you’ll play a key role in developing and delivering our grants fundraising strategy, identifying new funding opportunities and building lasting relationships with trusts, foundations and statutory funders.
Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you’ll create compelling funding applications that demonstrate the impact of our work and help ensure our lifesaving service continues long into the future.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to lead our grants and trusts programme.
You’ll manage a structured pipeline of funding opportunities, develop persuasive funding proposals and oversee reporting to funders, ensuring every application is accurate, compelling and aligned with our strategic priorities.
You’ll also provide day-to-day leadership and support to our Grants and Trusts Officers, helping develop the team while contributing to wider fundraising success.
What you’ll be doing
As Grants and Trusts Lead, you’ll:
– Develop and deliver our grants and trusts fundraising strategy.
– Identify and research new funding opportunities.
– Write persuasive funding applications, bids and proposals.
– Build and maintain strong relationships with trusts, foundations and statutory funders.
– Produce engaging impact reports and funding updates.
– Work with colleagues across the charity to gather evidence, budgets and project information.
– Manage an organised grants pipeline using our CRM systems.
– Ensure all activity complies with fundraising best practice and relevant legislation.
– Lead and support the Grants and Trusts Officer.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have experience securing grant funding and writing successful funding applications, along with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ideally you’ll also have experience:
– Managing trusts, foundations or statutory funding programmes.
– Developing fundraising strategies.
– Managing multiple deadlines and funding pipelines.
– Leading or mentoring colleagues.
– Working collaboratively across teams.
– Using CRM or grant management systems.
